Alone Yet Not Alone by Tracy Leininger Craven

Alone Yet Not Alone: Their Faith Became Their FreedomAlone Yet Not Alone: Their Faith Became Their Freedom by Tracy Leininger Craven

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the true story of Barbara and Regina Leininger.
Captured by Indians and separated by everyone they know, including each other. They refuse to loose hope of seeing their family reunited again. They cling to their faith in God, knowing that they are truly never alone.

This story is fascinating especially because it is based off of a true story that actually occurred in the author's family history, however I thought that the simple writing style did the story no justice.
I do think it would be a wonderful book for middle school age children as it is extremely simple in vocabulary and plot.

There is going to be a movie based off of this story coming out on SEPTEMBER 27th!
By the photos in this "movie edition" book I have to say I'm excited about watching it!!!

Sir Bentley and the Holbrook Court ~ Chuck Black

Sir Bentley and Holbrook Court (The Knights of Arrethtrae #2)Sir Bentley and Holbrook Court by Chuck Black

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First of all I'll say I LOVED Sir Kendrick and the Castle of Bel Lione but if it is possible to be better than perfection Sir Bentley and Holbrook Court is even better than the first book in the Knights of Arrethtrae series!
These books are truly a work of art. All for the glory of the Prince.
This book will speak to your heart on a much deeper level than just another "good, clean book".
I found my heart crying out along with Bentley's when he says, "I want to know You my Prince. I want to follow You, no matter what the cost. My heart is Yours, my life is Yours, my sword is Yours.
Whatever happens my Prince, please don't be a stranger to me".
Thank God for authors like Chuck Black who do not write to merely entertain but also to bring light into dark places.

Sir Kendrick and the Castle of Bel Lione ~ Chuck Black

Sir Kendrick and the Castle of Bel Lione (The Knights of Arrethtrae, #1)Sir Kendrick and the Castle of Bel Lione by Chuck Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sir Kendrick and the Castle of Bel Lione is definitely a book to be treasured!
When I first opened the cover and read the reviews of children 10 and 11 years old, raving about the Knights of Arrethrae I was a little put off. I mean, what I enjoyed reading at 10 years old is almost irrelevant to what I read now at 19. But I have to say this book is a rarity, truly a once in a lifetime kind of book.
I couldn't put it down! My faith was challenged and I became more aware of my own impulsiveness and and foolishness. I was startled by the reality and consequences of rebellion. I felt overwhelmed by the realization that so many will not repent and become a Knight of the Prince.
This book has inspired me to keep the "Promise and the Charge" that the Prince left to those who love and follow Him.
I highly recommend and encourage anyone from 10-100 to read this book. Not only to read it but also to study it and learn from it.

Be inspired by the Knights of Arrethrae!

"Their stand was strong and their courage sure, for the power of the Prince inflamed their hearts."

The Ezekiel Option ~ Joel C. Rosenberg

The Ezekiel OptionThe Ezekiel Option by Joel C. Rosenberg

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by Joel C Rosenberg. I do wish I had taken the time to read The Last Jihad and The Last Days as they are a continuing story.
First of all I have to say I thought this was going to be another Left Behind story, or more accurately an apocalyptic adventure novel. I was actually very pleasantly surprised.
I could not believe how understandable and exciting he made such a complex prophecy as is found in Ezekiel! I learned SO much about Biblical prophecies and also an extraordinary new understanding of the End Times!! I have to say I'm quite impressed!!
The ending of this book is simply put, POWERFUL! You will get cold chills reading about the the power of God so soon to be revealed to the world!
I would highly recommend this book!! I'm a fan!!

Fortress of Mist - Sigmund Brouwer

Fortress of Mist (Merlin's Immortals, #2)Fortress of Mist by Sigmund Brouwer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The recently conquered kingdom of Magnus is desperately coveted by the Druids and the dark powers of the symbol and Thomas, the new king of Magnus knows they will not stop until the Kingdom of Magnus is under Druid control once again.
Able to withstand siege for 10 years, the walls of Magnus seem impenetrable from the outside but inside it is but a fortress of mist, nothing is as it seems. The very walls are spies and people once thought dead are now visiting the living. The people are demanding answers and Thomas has none.
Who can he trust? What is real and what is merely an illusion?
For a Young Adult book the book this is an extraordinarily written story. The only reason I only give it 4 stars is because there was really nothing new or fresh but there was still enough action to keep you reading.
I would recommend this book for ages 12 and up. It would be a great book for young teens.

So Shines the Night - Tracy L. Higley

So Shines the NightSo Shines the Night by Tracy L. Higley

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Daria has been running from evil for as long as she can remember but it seems to pursue her everywhere she runs. Then she meets Lucas, a man haunted by a dark and mysterious past. Daria is determined to help him but finds that she to is facing dark and oppressive spirits as well. Then she meets a man named Paul who claims there is a power higher than all the gods she fears and more powerful than  the evil that haunts her every step. But with people being possessed by strange powers and sorcerers watching her every move she doesn't know who she can trust or what she should believe.
If I had to describe this book in one word it would be.. BEAUTIFUL! The cover is beautiful, the story is beautiful, and the message is beautiful!
This is the first book I have read by Tracy L. Higley but it most certainly won't be the last!
I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone! On a scale of 1 to 10 this book is a 12!!!!
